What is Drupal?

Drupal is a content management system that makes use of modules to display simple content to complex framework you could find on the Internet. Drupals framework is open source, meaning that the source code is available to anyone. The system itself is also free for all users, and while some web programmer and themers, such as Themes 24/7, sell certain types of Drupal customization.  Many themes and modules are available for free as well.Drupal is written in PHP, an open source programming language. Drupal works with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and many other operating systems. However, it does require a database, to store the sites content and settings.
